Hi, just for abit of context, I bought my Mercedes c220 W204 2013 AMG sport in April 2023. Unbeknownst to me the car had been remapped by previous owner in February 2023 and the ECU was removed in the process. The car has been driving perfectly, with only 65k miles from new, until recently when the engine management light came on and the car started underperforming, driving like a c200. Not massively but enough to notice. My usual mechanic was away so I got it diagnosed by another and the fault read 'The input for diesel particulate filter has a short circuit to ground. There is a short circuit to ground or an open circuit." So I contacted the company in England who performed the remap for the previous owner and they suggested that replacing the pressure sensor would correct the problem. My question is, with the dpf having been deleted from the car, isn't the pressure sensor pointless? Do I need to have it replaced? And if so, is the car okay to drive? Wife is looking to head 80miles round trip this weekend, should I drive or not? I plan on replacing the pressure sensor anyway but im looking advice from some of you who have experience in this field. Thanks if you are still reading and I appreciate any advice you all have.
