Well it's countersunk and if it may be 1/4" UNC

Hard to tell from a pic

Also if you get a screw and its galv or stainless you will get a reaction between dis-similar metals so put some copper slip on the threads which should help you get it out in the future. I dont think length of screw will be too important aslong as you have clearance for a longer screw

this thread reminded me to fix down the small access chamber lid that the mower sometimes sucks up when i run over it. three of these without the washer part did the job perfectly
