Local mechanic has tried but there is still stuff left in. I was trying to run it on vegetable oi and it wasnt filetered properly and it blocked the pipes and car ended up stopping totally

Now do i TOTALLY empty/drain the tank and of whatever is left as after garage chlaimed they had emptied it the problem still occured even after putting new fuel filter and cleaning prefilter

Desperate

Remove the fuel gauge sender unit and pump it out.

Most likely is that more gunge has blocked the new filter.

fill it to the brim and keep the tools on board to replace the filter and clean out the pre-filter gauze (ie 17mm spanner, 10mm spanner, cloth). Just how badly filtered was it - it would have to be pretty bad to block the pipes. Like lumps. Or are you talking about the goo that the veg seems to release from the tank thats actually diesel goo, but the veg releases it or reacts with it? comes out like black snot. pretty gross.

This advert came up on the side of the O/p.

It must be very bad...

Could you take a feed off before the filter and just use the fuel pump to empty the tank?
