Drastically reduced W126 500 SEL. Sort of.

Yes :ban:

My maths are as bad as his chances of shifting it at six grand!

Not sure but I want the 300 SLR

I wonder if Ironside's rule of thumb sticker prices are always 50% more than a private one?

Yes, a lot of classic car dealers and specialists work to aim to double their money. So look at Ironside's website and divide the asking price by two and that is likely what he paid for it.

CI has always priced to sell as a premium car, I am aware of one car he bought for under £2000, did little to, and then priced at just under £7k. When the cars are very low mileage and in good condition, people pay a lot.

When they are high mileage with decent condition, they tend to stick around. I would suggest in this case the seller just wanted it gone. By the time commission is taken out, the seller wouldn't have been getting a huge amount more anyway.
