Hi All

I have a c200 1999 elegance with an electric drivers seat. For some time now I have noticed that very occationally the seat ceases to function - dead. But, after switching ignition on/off it returns to life. Today it conked out and returned to life all on its own.

Have you ever had this issue before? Loose wiring perhaps?

Thanks.

Hi,
Have you only got the one electric seat? when it fails to operate does every seat function fail to operate? it sounds like it could be the CF Relay in the boot could be at fault, in the boot under the plastic cover behind the back seat, about £15-18 from MB.

Yes just the drivers side is electric. When it stops, all the functions cease. A relay sounds like the sort of thing that would be intermittant, cheers for that.

Hi
The relay coil has possibly two fuses in circuit, one in the rear fuse box, and one in the front fuse box, but as yours seems to be an intermittent fault, seeming to work if the ignition is turned on and off I would favour the relay as being your fault.
