2014 C63 AMG
Guys, recently picked up my 14 plate c63. Now although I've had various performance cars over the years this is really the first RWD car with plenty of power. So could anyone suggest around the south east area the best place/places to go for some training. Looked at the half day AMG course at Brooklands but I wanted to know if there was something any owners could suggest that may be better

Thanks in advance

Get it in a straight line before you boot it coming out of bends/roundabouts, especially if your in Sport + Mode, at least until you get used to it.

The C63 has a lot of torque, so can catch you out at revs that you wouldn't expect it too.

Best Advice you'll get.

I strongly recommend the M-B World training at Brooklands. You can get a lot from a simple AMG Hour, or alternatively go for a full 3 hours and perhaps try other cars as well. Your model is no longer on the fleet there, but the basics are just as valid irrespective of the car you drive on the day (the current C63 is very good). These are both normal 'retail' drives....

..... or you could book a specific AMG Basic Training 3 hour, which is broadly similar to the retail version, but with a little more reflective discussion and focus around your specific vehicle and requirements. These are the training packages offered to buyers of new AMG vehicles.

Either way, I personally think that Brooklands is the best place to start.

Leave the safety systems ON and don't be a Hamilton.

These cars are v safe and you have to do something really stupid to crash them, like turning off the safety system fully.

Thanks for that, was thinking of the 3 hour course they have up on thier website. Wasn't aware of a more specific AMG course.

This was the half day I was looking at doing

There's a more AMG specific course then?

And thanks for all the replies

Yes, that's the 'retail' 1/2 day course and is listed with all the other 'general public' AMG, M-B and Under-17's experiences run at Brooklands. The AMG Academy however is the curriculum that delivers the AMG Basic Training (provided to new AMG buyers) and this is also a half-day. However, even as a Used AMG Buyer, you are still able to book yourself onto the Basic Training course and I believe it's also the same price as the retail version, just more focussed on you and your specific vehicle. Having said that, either will deliver everything you want for an initial step into the world of AMG training.

The AMG Academy website is probably well known to everyone, but here's the URL again, just in case. Academy offers what they call a fully structured road-map of training that can ultimately get you setup for GT3 racing, given deep enough pockets! That URL;

AMG Driving Academy

I think that if you want to book an AMG Basic Training session at M-BW, then just call the Brooklands number.....

Appreciate you input, I'll take a look and get one of them booked up
