    Helooo

No one seems to want to touch the big hole in my drivers seat bolster. Anyone is south west recommended to make a repair? I'd take a pic but the car is 200 miles away in storage. Would it be cheaper just to replace, if so any good places to obtain original 124 parts?

    A decent retrim is possible
I was quoted for my Saab ( but sold it for unrelated reasons) holster or entire seat by the decent firm in Southampton

Where are you / the car?

    Retrim or recycled front seats...

Unless yours is a concours car, at first glance the solution is either a re-trim or replacement by recycled parts.

Partial repair of one bolster will cost as much as a re-trim because of the fiddling and matching involved.

The cheapest solution: probably just to use recycled parts: cover and components. it all just depends on your budget

Others can comment on a local car upholstery firm. There are plenty around and, in this digital age, they will have a substantial portfolio of work to show you.

    The best solution: IMO.

Advertise on here for a replacement seat?
Look on ebay Germany for a German passenger seat.

Retrims are expensive but can be very good if you intend keeping the car and have no cost concerns. But then you have to find the correct matching material and that will possibly involve finding another seat :^)

    Bear in mind colour matching

As a post-script, bear in mind that it may be a challenge to get colours / finishes to match. That might lead you to doing both front seats to minimise the comparison of colour and wear.

Off the top of my head, I would have guessed that replacement seat covers will be £100 apiece, plus fitting. But it is one of those things where once you start doing one piece, you end up wanting to do everything.

    Leather or cloth?

If you don't know post the VIN or reg # & someone can look it up.

I'm near Southampton at Fabes. Do you have details?

    I have cloth cream interior.

Difficult between getting upholstered and not getting the colour right or finding a replacement seat..

I'm new to Mercedes so might be looking in the wrong place. Will post on other threads.

I had the bolster on a Recaro seat repaired some year ago. Looked new. It's all about finding a good craftsman who will not charge the earth. If you do find one, then I would have no hesitation in repairing the bolster. Said that... in these day and age they are few and far between. Good luck...

    £100???

I looked up the price of a leather bottom seat cover from the MB discount place in Munich. Original part: €600.

    PS , a bit of a co-incidence, your location.....
