Drivers headrest temperamental

Hi, the drivers head rest will only go up and down when the car is not running. When it's running only the passenger side will move.

It's hardly a big problem but any reason for this or is it a fault?

Car is a e55 AMG.

The headrest motor soldered connections have cracked.
Fairly common issue and easily fixed if you can use a soldering iron.
The cable running to the motor inside the seat pulls on the soldered connections and eventually they crack and cause intermittent failure.

Make sure you clip the cable to the motor afterwards so it will not happen again.

Both the front headrests in our 212 E Class are possessed. Just moving either seat forwards or backwards the headrests perform this yo yo performance as if they're celebrating something.

Very strange why they're programmed to do this.
