Hi all

My drivers seat cushion has a rip in the half leather area, and I'm going to replace it

I managed to get a really good condition seat from a breaker, however i purchased the passenger side, as this was the better out of them both
They look exactly the same , and so i wanted to just unbolt my drivers seat cushion and drop this one in - however i noticed that there is a yellow plug on the new one i've purchased - a little bit of research has shown that this is the "Occupancy sensor" wire for the pass seat

Obviously this isn't going to be plugged in - as its going in the drivers side, so if i were to just tuck the wire away can i still fit it?
I know its possible to unclip the actual cover, and re fit - but I'm hoping not to have to do that to make the job slightly easier :)

Or is there anything else i need to do?

My car has Non heated front seats - and the donor seat is also non heated

Yes, just tuck it out the way,

Have same problem with CLK, Artico cracks.
The seat cushion is the same both sides, but how to remove it?

managed to fit the new seat. Its a dead easy job (on the W204 that is)
My car looks so fresh inside now :)

There are some torx bolts under the seat which hold a circular clip that clamps to the frame tube, and this basically holds the seat in position

You just undo those bolts and the seat lifts out :)

I managed to replace the driver seat cushion in my previous E350 (C207). Previous owner was obviously
heavy weight. The cushion was worn. No cracks in the leather though. The C207 is physically a C-class
so it has a small interior.

If the W204 isn't smaller than the C207, replacing the cushion and/or the leather could be done without taking the seat out of the car.

Important is to have the battery disconnected in order to prevent any SRS Error codes set when disconnecting the cable harness.
The chair was loosened and then flipped back onto the rear passenger seat after which the leather upholstery could be removed
and the cushion replaced.

This requires "some" careful use of strength preventing leather cracks or cutting the hands or fingers.
