Question for all light experts out there...
My early C207 has two light sources below the front fender on each side.
The inner are H11 55W Halogen fog lights. The outer are DRL
and they use a special type of Halogen lamp specified as "PSX26W"
I am trying to determine if the PSX26W are really replaceable or if
Mercedes has gone and sourced DRL's with integrated bulbs (such as the "Sealed beam" lights once used in the USA.) Which means that the entire assembly will have to be replaced once the lamp burns out.
On eBay.de, I can see pictures of variants both with a bulb and variants without. But no real information regarding the difference between them.
The strange thing is, that in the instruction manual that came with the car,
no lamp types are listed.
In the end, what I want to find out is if the PSX26W can be replaced with LED's or if the entire assembly has to be replaced. Mercedes discontinued the PSX26W rather quickly, and the "hockey stick" LED DRL's appeared one or two years after the introduction of the C207/W212.
