Derek, can't add much to what I have said to you already, but good for you for telling everyone on the forum. As I intimated before there are many support groups out there and online which can also provide specialist support and information especially if you can't get out and about. Hope things are a bit easier now you are home.:thumb:

So sorry to hear that Derek, not much else can be said that wasn't already ... My thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear your news Derek. It sounds as though the medics are fighting your corner and as others have said, a positive attitude and support from relatives, friends and even forum members must help too?

I am 5 years into my "journey" caring for my wife who has dementia, so I know how important this support can be.

I wish you well and look forward to further updates, as and when you are able.

Phil

Derek

The "constipation" diagnosis confirms my long held belief that you are/were full of sh!t.

I know that you will fight this with every single bit of fight you have. I also know that we are all fighting every step of the way, with you and Mrs Druk and your family.

Your posting this, took courage and strength and will help others.

All our love to you all.

Bruce, Carol, Róisín & Molly.

Don't know what to say. All the best, Derek.

Looking forward to wishing you a Merry Christmas Derek.

Best wishes,

Chris

Derek

I can only echo what others have said in terms of offering support in anyway that I /we can give.

Having been through the diagnosis of and treatment for cancer with Caroline some years ago I am convinced that positive attitudes and support from wherever you may wish to find it does help with the outcome, certainly in terms of adding even more value to the quality of the life we all have left to live and enjoy.

We went through dark times individually and together and, at times, she was ready to give up which was unexpected considering her character but it was the support of family and friends that got us through including some rebrobates from here!

Do not be afraid to allow yourself the occasional times when you feel bloody miserable, just ensure you have plenty of positive things planned along the way to give you the drive and focus to get every bit of enjoyment out of life which is far from over old chap!

Regards

David

Wishing you all the best.

Took such courage to share with others. ^

Very sad news Derek, I really hope things get better for you.

I know first hand how important health is - people say health is wealth and they are not wrong.

The NHS have been more than good to me and I hope you have the same.

Look after yourself, nothing else matters, especially modding a forum so I'm glad you will take a break and take care of your health.

Sorry to hear your news Derek. I can't add much to what has already been said but wish you all the very best.
It's obvious you have many friends on the forum and we are all pulling for you.

Chin up D. Sorry to hear this.

My wife's uncle has the same contracted because as a child the dust from his father's coat would be in the house...he was a shipyard worker.

Uncle Harry is 85.

Derek - as with others, what can I say?

You and several other Forum members know, of course, I've been through the mill over the last two years or so, and as you said then, "this whole life and death thing is overtaking us auld yins rapidly... and there is not much we can do about it.

I hope you will remain as comfortable and as active as possible but, more importantly still, that Bette will forever be strong and by your side.

Yours Aye,

Derek,
Have positive thoughts, words, and deeds, always. Tomorrow is always another day to look forwards to.

Steve.
