Thats a very very quick car,

No weight and huge power, the era they banned them from the rallys with 6R4's and the like...

Not sure on value, very odd car to value but to a collector doubt there is a better one.

The E55 in the background is Andy_cyp old car (R.I.P)

I know where there is one in exactly the same condition of tune and condition , but with double the miles ( 150 ;) , from new ) ...

It's not for sale though ....

Spectacular beasts ....

Quote from Wiki...

Power figures for the engine vary quite a bit from source to source, but output claims range from as "little" as 550 horsepower to as high as 800 horsepower; it's been said that the most powerful Evolution models can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just over 2 seconds, depending on gearing. Upgraded brakes and suspension components were part of the package as well. The ban on Group B racing effectively forced the E2 model into stillbirth; however, about one dozen of them were successfully run from early 1987 till late 1992 in Rallycross events all over Europe, and Norwegian Martin Schanche claimed the 1991 FIA European Championship for Rallycross Drivers with a Ford RS200

Awesome,

That picture was taken at the nec autosport international piston heads show back in january, i had a close look at the RS as i was parked next to it "E55" and i can honestly say it was mint.
Fab car

At this point I'd just like to say...

WOW Nice, I wish it was mine. It's just not fair, no sir.

The car for sale has done 2600 miles.

Now there is a car I would not be unhappy turning up in at a Mercedes GTG. Probably sideways! :D

Don't you mean way over on its side:D ....before using the roof and the other side for braking effect.

Very nice car but where would/could you use it:( ....I often think these museum peices would have been better off used for what they were designed for..its akin to those people who buy works of art and then have them stored, never to be viewed..whats the point?

I feel the same sometimes, more so in this case as it's been modified too. Who would do that unless your going to be thrashing it?

I saw a convoy of four RS200s on the M3 a few years back ... possibly on their way to an RS200club.co.uk GTG? :D

am i the only one that thinks its butt ugly and would not be seen dead in it..

I even like the Metro 6R4

Went to a few rallycross events at Brands Hatch in the 80s/90s ... excellent spectator event!

I used to go to these events too, Tony Pond had a group B modified 6R4 with a mid mounted TVR (Rover) V8 in it. It did 0-60 in 4 seconds on loose gravel!

Remember the X-trak MkIII Escorts? Front mounted V8 with 4WD, they were monsters .

The the first year I went to the Goodwood festival of speed, before it became a victim of it's own success, the hill climb record holder was a SWB Audi Quattro Sport in Group B Spec, it was running over 750 hp and was quicker up the hill than the formula 1 cars. All the way up the hill it seemed to be in a constant four wheel drift, the traction of this car was simply mind blowing.

Agree with above,

These style of cars are classics that took rallying to another level. I think one of these won the autocar 0-100-0 challenge some time ago.

Its an ugly nice if that makes sence, like the breadvan (BMW //M Coupe) sort of think you love or hate.

I don't think its a pretty car but you see past that for what it achieved and with out cars like this that set standards what would other manufactures produce.

its a bloomin ford sierra... ugh

It's a case of functional beauty, it was designed to do a specific job and appearance was simply irrelevant. It did that job so well, it was banned for being too good - As such it's beauty is it's function.

The Daddy was the evolution of the Audi Quattro in SWB form, which was always neck and neck with the Pug 205 Turbo 16. Some of these cars were close to 1000hp with adjustable boosts, even modern day rally cars couldn't live with them.
