Hi all I'm new to the forum but I'm hoping somebody can direct me to somebody in the Nottingham area that can restore my ECU to stock tune had a guy off facebook re map our 2009 C220 cdi and he has done such a bad job it runs better and gives more MPG in limp mode then
his Map, i need somebody with star diagnostic that can apply a factory update,
it's the ECU that has to be pulled from the car and done on bench delphi dc3.5 i believe, any help appreciated

Because the ECU was modified "on the bench" that might imply it was opened and some internal circuitry altered. If that was indeed what happened then it cannot simply be reflashed back to standard without reversing that physical modification?

Do you not trust the mapper to reflash your ECU back to stock?
He won't have anything to do with it, says his work is good, he won't reply to any messages,
i was thinking can i get a 2nd hand ecu matching numbers spec etc, can i lift the standard map from that using k tag.

How did you pay for the map? If by credit card or some debit cards then claim it back as fualty goods were supplied.

If you get a good second hand substitute unit just use that?
They are coded and would require resetting before removing from donner, nobody seems to be selling reset, that would be the easiest option.

Lol cash, what an idiot i am, the dude and the garage they operate from is a local place, but they did it mobile and ate not even admitting doing it.... .

If ithe map wrong build a case for the County Court.
There is always risk with that route but in theory if the map doesn't do as it was sold to do a report by MB should be good evidence prior to them restoring to original, that cost to be claimed for.
Put your claim in print form, recorded delivery.
The protocols need to be adhered to but they are there to be researched, and I seem to remember a thread here from maybe 3 months ago would help.

After thought,
once you have tried other remedies your claim would be a non starter to my mind.

Hi no physical mods just has to be opened to content to eprom and flash memory , this is not rocket science, ill buy the k tag system and do it my self, would at least be done right.
