Yes, I know, but let's get it out of the way... The good lady has bought a basic cooker hood. It can be wired into a 13amp plug according to the instructions - and it's only 50Watts, so not especially powerful.

The cable only has a live and neutral...why doesn't it have an earth? A DIY forum said it didn't need one? Is this correct?

fkjbgjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj.....sorry, I fell asleep on my keyboard through boredom

Yes it can be wired into a 13 amp plug or spur outlet in a single box.

If there are only 2 wires, then it is class 2 and double insulated and an earth is not required the label will show this, a black square within a black square.

I bought 2 mags on Saturday and I threw about 12 seperate inserts straight into the bin.

Working on the basis that no news is good news, I never buy a newspaper, and me, myself and I never have anything to discuss, goodnight

Gosh this is fascinating stuff! What gauge is the wire?

And I always respond to magazine inserts, doesn't everyone?

I agree, this is a very good thread, and we do need more input.

OK here goes, if you use 150mm ducting to a cooker hood that expels the air to the outside of the building, the noise level of that hood will only be one third of the level of doing the same with 100mm pipe

I had no idea this could be so interesting. I use yellow post-it notes. I'm also wearing blue sockssssssssssssssszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

zzzzzzzzzz......wha..what happened

Why not turn your cooker hood on and see if one of your yellow post it notes stick to the the filter.

Did you know a gross box of RED post-it notes weighs 17 grams more than a gross box of YELLOW post-it notes?
This is because the Red paper dye is heavier than the yellow paper dye.
I just thought I would mention that.
