Hi all, I'm looking for a replacement Duo Valve for my '94 e220 Coupe W124 with the M111 engine.

The part number I have been quoted at MB prices (£240) is 0018303984

After searching for a cheaper used part using that number however, I find the same part number is listed as for the M104 engine.

I thought these duo valves were very specific to both the engine and the type of heating in the car (a/c or non /ac, or climate). Mine is plain old non a/c.

If I find somewhere to order this part (Germany) for example, is it guaranteed to fit ?

Appreciate any advice.

Lee

It's not engine specific, it's AC specific.

Pm'ed you.

mine are stuck on my other w124 3.2 1994 with air con

i was told to tap them gently as that might release them, if that dont work to then take them apart and clean them up

how much are new ones?

Try your local breakers yard . I usually pay around £20 or £25 for these .

Plenty of 124's ariund being broken .

A specialist dismantler like Dave Collins or Rob Parker will sell you a used one which will have been tested before sale for a little more than the price above .

I took mine apart last year and cleaned them be very careful not to drop parts. It is not a difficult job and no seals to replace. see threads Peapod

Thanks for the tips guys, have tried breakers in the area and not had any luck.

My question now is that neilrr has offered me a duo valve with the correct part number, looking at the pics though it looks different to my existing one.
He thinks his came off an A/C car which is probably why it looks different.

When my garage called Merc dealer for a price, they done it just be the Reg Plate. Would this give them info on the type of heating in the car or just the year / model etc.

I can only guess that they gave me the wrong part number ???

Anyone got any ideas, or have a similar fan only system to mine and know their duo valve part number

Thanks as always
Lee
