Hi all,

After getting my car back from the body shop today to fix some minor cosmetic issues (like it when I bought it) I stood and looked at it on the drive.
The paint finish is superb but..... after it had a good polish the dust just seemed to get sucked onto the car.

Does anyone if it's possible and how to stop dust being attracted to the car so badly.

I live down a lane so I accept there will be more than in built up areas but it seems like the car is being "charged" by polishing it so it just attracts dust like it's going out of fashion.

Any ideas/solutions.

I live out in the country , next to a main road and suffer from the same problem - if the dust isn't thrown up by passing traffic , it blows in from surrounding farmland .

imo one does get an electrostatic charge build up which attracts dust, debris and pollen, usual cause of the charge is driving the car, road and air friction etc. Spraying the vehicle with ionising radiation should solve the problem ;-)
