Duxford 3rd May

MBO have an area at Duxford, have had for the past few years, we have over 20 cars so far on the list, MB Club are more than welcome to join us. Please add names below, so that I have an idea of overall numbers, thanks :)

Hi,

Please put an R129 on your list. :-)

Regards

Tim Watts

make a list here then Sarah can ensure she books enough space at Duxford. You could just turn up and wing it, but it would be better for all if everyone booked as is normal for most meets.

If the weather is kind, it's picnics on the grass and some great cars/military gear - well worth a visit

It is a great day out and as John says if the sun shines it makes for a relaxing day with plenty to browse. Only down side for me is that the American Exhibition is closed for a year long renovation, which is my favourite part of the whole site. Hardly distracts from the day however and as it is only a few miles down the road I expect to be adding my name to the list in due course.

Quick update

Had this message from Duxford today ...

Unfortunately, due to the American Air Museum being closed for refurbishment we have lost out on car club pitches, so will not be able to accommodate you with a car club pitch.

You are welcome to attend as individual entrants but will have to park in the individual entrants area and will not be guaranteed spaces together.

All is not lost, the individuals area is a big area that is near the entrance (actually next to the area we were in last year for those that attended) If we park at the back of that area and with some 'marshalling' of other cars we can hopefully still be able to be parked together. I don't see it being a problem and hope that you will all still be happy to attend.

For anyone who is attending , some of us are meeting up at the Birchanger Services on the M11 to convoy up, we will be leaving the services at 8.15 am if you fancy joining us, if not see you at Duxford :)

8.15 on a Sunday morning is early, especially on a bank holiday weekend. So I'll see you there then. :D

May be easier for us to all arrive at the same time, especially due to the limited parking mentioned above.

Currently 25 from MBOA, around 6 confirmed they are meeting at the services, also

Hi,

What time are you planning on arriving at Duxford? I'm going straight there as I will be coming from the Hertfordshire side of the M11.

Is there a specific place to go on arrival?

Thanks in advance.

Plan to arrive at Duxford for 9.15 ish. We are parking in the Individuals area.

If others are meeting at the services, new rescheduled time 8.30 for 8.45 departure.

Have rescheduled to meet up and leave the services about 8.45 as some thought it a little too early :)

Who chose a bank holiday weekend for a gtg?
Obviously it is going to rain!
The forecast is showers on and off all day :(

When the USAAF were stationed here in WW2, it was so wet they called it Duckpond. RAF Fowlmere, just down the road, they called Henpuddle.
