DVD COMAND problems

I have a new E320 (September 2003) with COMAND DVD system including TV tuner.

It has variously cut-out altogether, re-booted at random, the voice has failed, TA volume will not adjust downwards even though slider can be moved. MB have just installed all available software upgrades but problems persist, mainly with navigation.

Is there any diagnostic screen accessible?

Any ideas?

i know it does not help BUT there was a interview / article in this weeks autocar with the boss of MB, he pretty much admitted that the car was too complex and in future they will not bother with so many new gizmos on a car at launch.

Apprently the new e class has the title of being the most unreliable merc of all time.

but is seems to be linked to what options the car has, there was also talk of SBC being dropped as it was to problematic.
