DVD Recorders

OK,
getting sick of spending a fortune on DVD box sets for US Sitcoms so considering a DVD recorder to get them off Sky.
Anyone got knowledge on this topic as I know bugger all about them (or anything else for that matter)
Dont need any editing gubbins or anything like that, just want to record off Sky and get good quality results.
Help please.

Have a look at www.avforums.com, you'll see reviews and umpteen posts on them.

I bought a Panasonic E55 a year or so ago and didn't like it, ended up sending it back and getting a real cheapo which does the job nicely, can't make etc off hand but it'll be out of date now anyway!
