Dyno Day SSR

Hi Billy - glad you got your map adjusted, looks like Jerry has done the business again. Strange figures so far out from SRR but in comparison to previous map looks better all over doesn't it.

Billy

Did you log the IAT from the ODB port as well, I presume they IAT graphs are taken from a probe in the intake as they decrease as RMP increases. The post supercharger temperatures should do the opposite.

Hi Paul

Yes got everything this time, went there with the new map, the guy did not rush, and took some time setting up etc. nothing looked out tbh, but I am happy to zip the files and send over, because it was so far out. I put the same map back on that I ran at SSR, and was no better and certainly rich, we allowed the car time to cool between runs, so we were both at a loss being the setting appear to be the same, yes his sensor was in the air intake, and is running the digital version.

Correct Simon, overall it's exactly what Jerry said it would be Tad more power and a much smoother better map.

Sounds great Billy, you must be pleased even though the figures differ from SRR they will still be representative and as you say looks smoother.

Good news that you were given time to load the alternative map to get some comparisons. Silly question maybe but how long does it take to load the map, were you there a fair amount of time? It was all bit too rushed at SRR last time but maybe we were just unfortunate with all the subaru's ready to go outside.

Only takes a few mins to load the map, but the guy was explaining a few things + data logging, he had plenty of time was there for around 2 hours still charged me the just hour £50, your probably right about SSR but same respect he knew we were coming, so he obviously planned to rush us through then kick us off site, when the ricers arrived

You're probably right, I would have liked a few more runs at SRR last time. In reality we prob only got 10-15mins each at best.

Glad you got the time it really does make all the difference, I always try to book time rather than runs that way you know what you have to play with. Those graphs look great as I have said before don't worry about the final number its the graph shape and all the data around it.

Okay thanks Paul, and many thanks for all your help and info, much appreciated, have you any future plans for your car?

No I think I'm done, had a few things but getting a bit bored with the car. Really fancy a V12 TT or 63 BiTurbo.

Yes been in the new 63, nice bit of kit and great sound, makes my car feel really dated, anyway I have a mate that has a rs6 v10 Biturbo for sale if ur interested.

dont do it Paul! ;)

that 2013 E63TT would be my next move, but probably wait another 5 or 6 years before they come into my price range.

Thing is every time I drive it I forgot my boredom.

totally agree, still makes me grin everytime i drive it, best thing is the Mrs even misses it everytime we drive a different car.

I think the new 63tt is the way to go.

Simple weitec upgrade of downpipes and exhaust, air filter and remap gains approx 175 whp and 250 wheel torque.

Yep I have to agree with Andy, cant really see the point of buying anything else if you are after a great car with plenty of power. But as Alps said bit expensive for most.

Okay just got back, not great pics, but power is miles out from SSR, I don't know why, but either way the new map from Jerry has sorted out the richness and added a bit more power.
Car was run is dyno mode and 3rd gear.

Pink line is new map, red old map.

:thumb:Looking good Billy.

You can definitely see the difference where the AFR has been adjusted so worth the revised map.

Not sure why the graph numbers are lower but guess it could be down to a few things, firstly this dyno is the newer type so has a different weather station. This means it's set point for Baromic pressure is totally different to the older type, it shouldn't matter too much unless weather conditions are out, but looking at your intake v ambient temps then there is also quite a difference so the dyno will be recalculating to compensate.....however not sure whether this would reduce overall power output or increase it. At SRR I believe Charlie removes this variable so the Dyno doesn't need to allow a correction to occur.

The other noticeable difference on the graph is that the peak figures are made earlier than before and the peak power tails off sooner, this is could be down to the way the car was set up on the dyno....not sure.

Either way the most important factor is that you ran both maps back to back to see the difference, so ignore the figures, or just add 10bhp to the SRR figures as I reckon that is what the gains you see on the new map are equating to....

Jules.
