I'm quite tempted y a pre-2017 E400 Coupe. I really like the shape of the body, and the V6 petrol.

Wikipedia suggests that the E300/E350 were the non-turbo 3.5L and the E400 was twin turbo 3.0.

But I've seen a couple of E400's listed that are 3.5L Would this be the non turbo DE35, or did they just increase the E30 to 3.5l?

But looking at adverts it seems like the later E400 had a twin turbo 3.5?

If you do an MOT check through the DVLA website of any cars that you are considering it will give you the vehicles displacement.

Probably the majority of C207 E400s have the M276 DELA 30 3.0 V6 engine developing the exact same 333 hp and 480 Nm (354 lb ft) of torque as the M276 DELA 35 3.5 V6 fitted during the last months of C207 E400 production. It's difficult to see why MB even bothered to change engines but the charging pressure for the twin turbos is reduced on the 3.5 V6.

Taken from a thread already on this forum .

They are basically the same engine with identical performance. This explains all.

thanks. Thats exactly what I wanted to know. So the newer 35 DELA ups the capacity but lowers the boost pressure, increasing MPG slightly.

I found a couple of brochures from 2013 and 2015 that gave specs for both engines.
The 35 produces its peak power 250rpm earlier, and peak torque 200rpm earlier.

I've updated wikipedia

Whilst the 3.5 engine is booked at 333 bhp, a few have been benched / dynod by members on here and they have been closer to or exceeded 350bhp.

That was before they then had a stage one remap to 420bhp!!!

MB are known to understate some models to maintain the performance gap to the halo AMG models (C or E43 in this case)

Mine is the 3.5 and I'm coming up to 2 years fault free motoring engine wise, and see over 40 mpg on motorway runs, if that helps with the purchase decision
