Hi all,

My Merc's suspension has been going down a while, it appears to be nearside. Here's the issue, it's been into the garage and they diagnosed a faulty sensor. This was fixed and the car was upright for about 4 days, first sign of any weight in back and it went down. Now I can drive the car and it has gone from being really low over the wheel arch to just a bit. Once you start it, it goes up after a minute or two. But sometimes it creeps back down. Then bizarrely it goes up again and then stays up for a couple of days.

Now I thought it was an airbag but the German car specialist I've just had it in says it might not be that and might not be the compressor as that seems to be working. Like I say the sensor has been changed. I'm at a bit of a cross roads as to what to do, what do people think on here? Is it airbag or could log be compressor or something else altogether. It's done 154k and it's been well looked after and full merc history to 138k. What can people suggest? I'm loathed to get rid of the car cause I like it and what do people think about converting the self levelling? Thanks Andy

Its very likely to be a bellow leaking. They are common for it. Check the pipework to the nearside bellow first for leaks.

There is a pneumatic test on a Star that must be done to see if the compressor is efficient.

Thanks does that mean that an airbag or the compressor is faulty or would it be replace the wiring? I need to pop it on the star and see Ben, thanks

Hi is there any other suggestions please?
