Hi,

Newbie questions - just registered so hello everyone!

I am looking to buy a 2009 E Class (late 2003-2009 model, not the newer one). From what I can see of the pictures (Auto Select Bedford Ltd | Mercedes E Class E 280 CDI SPORT), it has a Comand NTG2.5 unit fitted. I have a few questions about this:

1. Does the presence of the unit automatically mean I have Bluetooth connectivity? The dealer says it doesn't have it but my research says it may be in the head unit so it will.

2. If it has Bluetooth then is this dialling only or AD2P music streaming, or does it depend on the car / unit?

3. What in the way of USB charging does it have? If no USB at all, then how can I charge devices in the car? Cigarette lighter?

4. If the connections are really poor, then what are my options for upgrade kits without spending crazy money?

Thanks very much for your time,
Richard

I’m not sure but we have a company that are forum sponsors

Mercedes Comand Navigation and Audio Specialists

USB charging is not an issue as you can buy attachments that fit the cigarette port to do the job but buy a decent one as some are cheap and don’t work well.

Someone with this car may be along soon to help.

There’s ways round most issues so it’s probably more important to buy right car first then worry about the rest later.

Welcome to the forum.

It has dialing but not AD2P. If it has the media interface as an optional extra it may have a USB port, it also has an SD card reader and will probably be able to store some MP3 and WMA files on the hard drive of the NTG2.5, but not masses!

Thanks everyone.
