Another stupid MB fault!!! Boot wet, open the boot and feel the carpet on the boot lid its self...probably wet!? Water is seeping through the poor quality seal around the 3rd boot brake light.
Before l ordered a new one £100 ish from MB l popped to B&Q and got some clear exterior sealant. I put the thinnest strip of sealant all around the 3rd brake light wiping away any excess leaving it neat and tidy....6 months on the boots still bone dry!
I repeated this process around the front parking sensors also which stopped them shorting out whenever it rained.
