E class W211 CDI recall - new turbo

Just got the car back from the dealership to resolve the battery draining issue and was told that whilst it was in they fitted a new turbo as part of a recall.

Just thought any fellow E270cdi (and what about C270cdi owners) should be aware of the recall.

Glad that didn't happen out of warranty!

If a car is subject to a recall then I would have thought that the remedial work is free regardless of whether the car had an active warranty or not.

This is true, but recalls tend to be for new cars!!! Older cars have modified parts fitted as required.
