Another daft w211 E class fault!!
The door mirror glass will not adjust, fold the mirrors in and the mirror will then adjust up/down only.
Whilst the door mirror is folded you can use a flat head screw driver and slide it inside the door mirror, depress the silver clip and the whole door mirror can be removed quite easily (indicator light unplugs as the casing is removed) plenty of video clips on YouTube if you are unsure.
Once the case is off you can see the problem, more broken wires! Strip the wires back and solder/seal. Slip the cover back on and hey presto you have adjustable mirrors again.
I changed the indicator lights at the same time (two screws & simple) for some fresh ones £19 from MB & nice and fresh looking again
