E class W212 Partial LED headlamps

I have just changed my clk for a E class with partial LED headlamps. On dipped beam the LED headlamps are very good but when you put it on main beam it is like putting on a candle with the yellow main beam against the LED white light. Has anybody got any advice or recommendations for improving the main beam without changing to HID lights

What is the light source of your high beam? HID or Halogen?

H7 halogen bulb original. I have been looking around and wondered whether either Osram Night Breaker or Philips white vision xenon effect would be an improvement. I also see you can get H7 SMD LED bulbs but am not sure about these as there may be a problem with error code messages and whether there is a problem with the heat generated. If it was just a question of fitting LED bulbs why didn't Mercedes fit them originally. I am surprised that more members haven't posted there experiences of improving there lights. I don't particularly want to go down the HID route.

Have MB really fitted old school halogens alongside cutting edge LEDs???
