My 2004 E Class Elegance Estate has 125,000 m and drives very nicely.

However it's never had any suspension work done and I'm wondering whether things like dampers and rubber bushes would be past their best by now and could do with a refresh?

With the roads as bad as they are, it's hard to tell if everything's as good as when it left the factory. There are no nasty noises but you can certainly feel the uneven surfaces through the steering wheel.

Thanks, Kim

Kim, at 125k , I would do all the bushes ,shocks and front springs. Your car will feel awesome. Don't forget to get it aligned too.

Thanks Harry, that's what I was thinking.

'Awesome' in a 'smoother, less bumpy' kind of way?

It will bring back the control and compliant ride these cars have. I have Eibach springs and bilstein b6 shocks. Amazing control on the motorway but a slightly firmer ride around town but I like the set up.

Thanks again Harry.

Anywhere you'd recommend to source the parts from?

Sure. Email me your number plate and I will pass it on to my wheel tyre suspension dealer. You'll get a good price. [email protected]

Kind of you. Many thanks.
