Hi All,

I have been looking at the 12plate E Class Coupe and Cab 250's in two minds what to do. I am going view both tomorrow the cab is an manual and the coupe is an auto.

My questions are:

What should I be looking out for on both cars

Are there any known issues

Is there any benefit of a manual over the auto? residuals etc?

Thanks

Had my e250cdi coupe for 7 months and had one issue with heated seats.. It was fixed under warranty :))
Nice to drive and very good for m-way cruising especially on fuel.

Go for the automatic, IMHO a Merc and manual box is a second rate combination.

The 250 diesel torque curve tends to drop off fairly early as the revs rise [peaks at around 1750rpm] so to get the most out of the engine it pays to change up a gear fairly quickly- this implies lots of gear changes in a manual. Petrols are better in this respect with lower but wider torque curves allowing you to hang on to the revs a bit more. If you are going diesel go 7 speed auto.

Merc = Auto.
The only Mercs I've ever drove with manual were there commercial range of vehicles.
