Good morning all.
From the bottom bit you can see that I changed the standard set up of rear wheels from 225/45 to 245/40 to give my car the 'offset'? look. Now, when I come to exchange my car for my long awaited SLK 350 next year I will be returning my present car back to its standard rear wheel set up.
This will obviousley leave me with a spare pair of 8.5JX17 245/40 Alshain wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sports with barely 5000 miles out of them. I rather like the wheels and would like to keep them, and another pair (fronts) which I shall purchase next year. I have done some homework and checked the ET for my new SLK against what I already have with my coupe and against what I propose. I am ok with the front offset situation but for the rear it is, SLK=ET34, Coupe=ET30, i.e. a difference of 4mm. Would anyone know if such a small discrepency, 4mm, would be critical or, am I taking to big a risk with my new arrival. Also, what does anyone think of the Alshains' on an SLK?, I think they would look good but does anyone think they would appear a bit penny pinching, considering the car they are going on.
Many Thanks, Portzy.
