Hi Guys..

Does anyone know where I can find a manual 6 speed gearbox part 2122600209 for an E220... my local garage have tried to order the part through a MB dealership who say there are none in the country and they do not know when there will be any available

Regards

Hello Trevor and welcome . If your gearbox is broken and you can't find a replacement send it off to be repaired. I realise it's a bit unfashionable to repair stuff these days , but it still goes on.

Welcome aboard Trevor, gives us some details about you manual gearbox, whats it not doing for you to need a replacement.

Hi Guys..
Thanks for the replies..
Background is that I took the car into the garage back in December 2021 as I couldn't select first or reverse gear, which seemed to occur very quickly, i.e. I drove into a car park, when I came out I had the problem.. it may have been going for a while but I hadn't noticed.. anyhow the garage removed the gearbox and said it was a selector issue (quite common apparently) but they would have to send it to a specialist.. the specialist said they would have to order the part (2122600209), when I say part it's actually an assembly of many parts..so they ordered and paid the for the part through an MB dealership, who said it would be available in February... it didn't arrive, after many conversations by the specialist and myself with the dealership, they then said it was arriving in Germany on the 5th April and should be in the UK for the 12th, last time I spoke to them (yesterday) they said they now have no idea when it will be..I find it really difficult for an MB dealership or even the manufacturer to have no idea at all!!!.. inbetween these two dates I had raised a complaint with Customer Services at MB, who after speaking with the dealership finally said that they would not pursue it any further and just let the dealership handle it.... makes me think..well what are customer services for?.. anyway I have just raised it with the ombudsman.. not sure if that will help though..

This is my fourth Merc... but after this I doubt I would get another, to be fair I suppose, when speaking with the guys at the local garage its not just parts for MB they're having issues with.. it seems to be quite widespread with other manufactuers

Thanks again for your replies..

Apparently available in 7 to 10 days at 375€ from my usual place:

However, they have been know to be a mite optimistic. But pretty reliable, overall.

Thanks...that sounds interesting, do you use them regularly as they seem to have mixed reviews?

I've never looked at reviews. But I've had loads of stuff from them over the last 5 years. They've only failed in terms of saying something was available and retracting it and removing it from the order. Never any rip-off.

I only buy the genuine MB stuff from them as every order has a 14€ shipment charge so I make it justified. Non-MB stuff (Sachs, Lemfoerder, Hella, etc.) usually comes from AutoDoc who have always been fine.

They always ask if I can accept, say, 10 day delivery if that's appropriate.

I got same issue now. My gearbox 711.653 rear gear won't work. Just unexpectedly stopped getting in its proper position on a left front. Checked shifter console handle, looks OK. I have seen on e bay a lot of them available but, delivery and age of those are a bit of consern 😂

Trevor tried to send you private ma
Tried to send you a message (no pm messages until you reach 30 posts) to discuss it, coz have similar issues, so... Try to enter your gearbox model number into ebay search... Google search
As example mine is 711.653 model. Go on some Web parts catalogue online and check your win... For example https://partsouq.com/

That website very good on detailed search.
I never use their search to identify parts. I ALWAYS use an EPC to identify parts and then place orders for parts using the MB reference.

If I go for an aftermarket part I cross-reference the MB part number to the aftermarket vendor's part.

Good hunting.

Hi guys
I did order the part from where RayH recommended, however they came back a few days later saying they couldn't get the part either..well not for quite some time...still continuing to badger the mb dealership without success..so the only route will probably be a secondhand gearbox which I was initially reluctant to do..

Ow I have checked online and looks like they have availabile a gear shaft mechanism, cost around 350£, state as brand new in box 😂 so I presume that is my case, take a gearbox off swap gears, forks and put it back in original gearbox case.

I do like this car, don't want to sell it yet. 😂 Not spent enough into it 😂

Hi.

Just rung them in Friday, also mercedes benz dealers in UK, Germany, Poland. None of 2122600209 available. Only used one.

Heard that this part made in Ukraine, but there isn't peaceful now unfortunately. However I rung some of theirs merc dealers in Kiev, lviv. Looks like they all ordering through the Germany store first anyway.

Unfortunately unavailable.
