Hi I'm Jamie

New to the forum.

Got my E220 a couple of months ago and love it!

Except for the t**t nav!

I'm assuming it the original one (2010).

But it doesn't even pick roads up that were probably about before sat navs came out for cars!

It doesn't find a lot of post codes and definitely does not find the best route.

So a bit baffled.

But the actual layout and system I like.

Apparently there's a new map update coming out in a couple of weeks?

And what's best? I see there is Tom Tom and gamin or is it dx?

Is there only one system or is there s choice if so which one is the best?

Sorry new to this and just need to sort this out.

Many thanks

Jamie

The manual says comand APS?

Thanks

Jamie

Does it have a SD card slot, or a PCMCIA slot (wide slot)

That tells me whether it is NTG4 or NTG4.5. As its a MY10 car, almost certainly NTG4.

There are new versions of maps for NTG4 and NTG4.5 due early in the new year (by my estimation, they are not announced until they are released, but there are some hints)

I'll let people know when the new maps are out in anycase

Cheers

Richard

Thanks Richard

It has the pcmcia slot.

Do I have a choice of software or do I have to go with the comand one?

Thanks again

No choice, just the official one for your COMAND system

Thanks if you can let me know when the new version comes out will be appreciated.

Ok thanks do I need to get comand updated? Or do I just order the disc put in and off I go?

On W212 comand, having a firmware update can (not always) give you 7 digit postcode and bluetooth audio streaming.

You don't need up-to-date firmware for the latest map. (Only on NTG2.5 comand does it need that)

If you want latest firmware, talk to Alfie ( [email protected] )

Cheers

Richard
