E220cdi Elegance facelift
Well,I've done it. Gone for a change of model from my excellent,utterly reliable
c220('93),(why am I doing it?) to a w reg.(2000)e220cdi,elegance,face lift,metalic blue,leather,cruise,61k fmbsh etc.
This is my first deisel, any tips on how to care for it?
Should i start using additive? One mb fitter once told me,"mercs dont need additives,leave things alone" but he was talking about petrol models.
Any comments appreciated, pics soon. :bannana:

Horrible, aren't they? ;)

Actually I wish mine had Elegance suspension, as I don't really need the tautness of the Avantgarde.

It generally seems to be advised to use diesel additives, with 'Millers' being the brand recommended to me. I haven't bought any yet, but will do tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy it and that we get to see it at the next meet.

Ian.

LOL...

So I'm stumped then. What I want is something that handles when I'm in a hurry but is really supple and gives that magic carpet ride when I'm not.

I guess the new S-Class air suspension would do fine, better check my piggy bank... (nope, not just yet ;)).

Or the new E-Class air suspension. I love it. I keep it in normal mode most of the time and it just glides along but two click of the button and it stiffens up nicely for those bendy bits.

Nice...

<checks piggy bank, shakes>

Nope, it's still not happening for me - at least without HP.

:)
