Hi, The front 2 seatbelts in particular tend to squeak quite loudly when pulling them through. (E240 -1999)
Any idea how to access the mechanism please, and what/where to lubricate.
They are covered with an upright which matches the interior lining, they are held i n place some how, but I can't see any obvious clips/screws etc.
The rear ones are easier to access as the panels just unclip.
I was advised that the dealer should have checked them on the last service, but I do not want to make a special trip now to sort it out.

Thanks Colin

You have to pull the cover off the B pillar and be very careful just to get a lubrucant just on the center spindle.

PTFE does the best job and its clean stuff

Thanks, there appears to be some sort of crimped clip either side near the inside top of the cover.

The covers do just prise oft and the clips you speak of can bite into the trim and B pillar,, there is no other way,,if a piece of the plastic does break off you can move the clip to a new place
