Hey guys,

I am looking to purchase an E250 cdi manual sport coupe in the new year and I was wondering what performance upgrades I can get to make the car go a little better, stop a little better and handle a little better*

So far I have read that the car benefits by a great amount from a remap and also a DPF delete but that is all so far. I have not been able to find anything else performance wise that can be done to this car? Also is there anything I should look out for including engine, ecu, transmission etc.
Would love to go through some sort of buyers guide so I can keep an eye out for what I should avoid and check before I go ahead with a purchase*

Thanks in advance*

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

Where are you based?

I'm new to MB, so no personal knowledge of these engines, but best bang for buck tweaks to a diesel are intercooler upgrade, exhaust upgrade and a matched remap.

For DPF and Cat removal, you run the risk of failing MOT even if you fast pass emissions test, so it pays to be up to speed on what is checked at MOT time.

cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve, I'll keep that in mind bud
Haven't purchased the car yet but Im just doing all the homework before hand haha

I have the same vehicle and once I've checked with mb as to whether it will affect my pcp with them; I'll definitely be looking at getting it done so any info appreciated Acid

I've had a E250 CDI coupe(Automatic, 5G Tip) for nearly two years(originally registered in Sept 2009, so an early model). I was reluctant to do a remap as the car came with 1 year warranty so went with a DTUK CRDt box which altered the boost pressure and rail pleasure readings back to the ECU. It gave a noticeable power boost. But had to reset the MIL(reported fuel rail pressure low, out of acceptable range) on a regular basis(especially in wet conditions under heavy acceleration for some reason) which leads me to believe that the 250 CDI engine has little scope be pushed beyond 201bhp.

There are some previous posts on how the 250 CDI will perform above stock which may be worth reading.

I do miss the additional power and responsiveness the box gave the car and given that my car is now out of warranty I may look at getting it remapped and other enhancements that people recommend.

I'd be interested in what people here have done with the 250 CDI to enhance performance etc.
