E270 cdi - 2003 few questiobs

Hi everyone, bought a e270 on 03 plate 79000 milrs. I know about sbc, pump and radiator. But my car when accelerating around 20 and 30 mph car seems to sometimes jolt. Also sometimes it sounds like it gas flatspots in terms of sound. Just had new theromostat. Also got d+ service soon any good garages in ashford area or maidstone etc. thanks in advance. Also my does not have heated seats, do they come fitted and just needing a switch? Thanks gareth

The gas flat spot and the jolting you describe a pretty difficult to understand over the net. It might be worth seeing when the transmission oil and filter were last changed as the jolting could be transmission related. The maf sensor can also cause flat spots and/ or jolting. If you dont have heated seats its not as simple as just fitting a switch!! Im sure another member will recommend a specialist close to you!

Also thr revs will sometimrs go up or fown by 100 or so when driving. How do I know what rad I have.

Mine has the same symptoms.
Got my local indy to look at it and he said it was the torque convertor slipping he put it on star and got it to lock it up and we went on a drive.
Hey presto it drove like new.
Getting a new one fitted monday.
Not a cheap job @£1200!!!

How come you having a new one fitted? Also would anyone know what the glyco symtons are? Also new a user manual but dont want to, oay merc main price any tips?

Getting a new one fitted because it only stops slipping with the star locking it up,once disconnected the problem is still there.

Sorry to be dum, what is the star? Did uours jolt or jumo when going through 20 and 30mph sometimes, seems to be when changing gear??

Star is the diagnostic system that mercedes use.
It is plugged into the car and and performes a check on all systems on the car and if there are any problems/failures it comes up with error codes that can be translated.

Hi Mercgaz
Got my new torque convertor fitter today and WOW the old girl is like new!!!
SMOOOOthe gearchanges/progressive and increased power and also quieter.
I really didnt realise how bad it had got.
I had all the symptoms you have and that was all it was,a slipping torque convertor!!
Obviously new gearbox oil/filters etc..were changed aswell.
As said before its not a cheap fix but it transformes the car-kickdown is a blast!
Get your indy to go out out on a drive with you,locking the tc up with star and it will tell you if the symptoms are the same.
