Hi there, I hope someone can help. My lovely e270 estate has decided to throw a tantrum. One day recently I came out to find the rear end of the car almost on the ground. Having had various experts examine the car, it appears that the air tanks for the rear suspension are the culprits. Now in order to replace these, the whole rear subframe has to be removed, and replacement parts fitted at great expense.
I am aware that there are a couple of companies offering a coil spring conversion kit. I need to effect a repair on a budget and want to know if I can fit the rear springs from the s210 model (fitted with coil springs, not air) to my car - since the coil spring conversion kit goes straight in.
Has anyone done this? Do you recommend it? Where do you recommend sourcing replacement springs - scrappy? Can you recommend anyone in the Edinburgh area?
Sorry to ask so many questions in one post! Look forward to hearing soon.
