E270 CDI - EGR Recirculation valve

Hi guys,

Anyone have experience physically removing it to clean ?

I have tried to remove it by unscrewing the bolts but the EGR valve refuse to come out from the cooler. Try pulling it out but seems to be stuck probably by the soot.

Ideas ?

Rotate it side to side slightly, it will come.

It won't budge. Tried doing that.. even knocked it slightly with a hammer to try and rotate it. Would it help trying it when the engine is hot ?

Probably, yes.

Got it out, hammered it quite a bit to rotate. The soot is probably about 2-3mm thick. Is that bad ?

Anyway got it sparkling clean, new o-ring and put it back in.
