Hi guys,
I am wondering if anyone's done any tweaks beyond say a kleemen or brabus tuning on the above car?

I was leaning to having two turbos jammed into the car but someone told me that a 5 cylinder job can only stomach a single turbo!

Does anyone still run this car around it's been reliable save the alternator dying and a few sensors here and there!

I had mine remapped a couple of weeks back, it made a bit of a difference, actually it has made a 10% difference to the fuel economy (for the better) - I actually managed 61.1 MPG on the daily commute last week.

I find the performance more than adequate so don't envisage doing any more to it than that.

In theory it's now +30HP and +46NM but to be honest I drive with economy in mind rather than performance so couldn't say for sure that I feel any appreciable difference.

There's no real turbo lag (certainly not since the remap) so i'm not sure a twin turbo setup would be particularly useful (not to me anyway) and i suspect that'd cost as much as if not more than buying another car to "play" with... I use my TVR for that..

In fact I had to bring that in to work today as the Merc is off the road with a leaky injector (caught very early) and i actually prefer the Merc for the commute (not least because I am lucky to get 20MPG out of the TVR).

A decent re-map and hybrid turbo and intercooler upgrade will bring it up in performance a lot :)

After that look to brakes and suspension before doing any more engine tweaks.

Who would manufacture the hybrid turbo ?

You really need a re-map specifically for the turbo when going hybrid so a rolling road session and re-map is recommended so it can be set up how you want it econ/power power/econ or just power :)

Turbo Dynamics have been doing CDI 270's


I can't vouch for them either.
