E270 cdi

Hello all I'm new to the forum and I have been reading about the Valeo rad problem on the E270 CDi's. I'm looking at an 03 which I understand is the cross over year, how do you tell if the car has this rad?

hi and welcome. I had the same question a while back to feel free to search my posts and you should find out all that i did - have patience as its not easy (or entirely conclusive).

You can tell by how the alloy is folded over the plastic end cap little fingers means old poss faulty rad, wavy one long piece should be new style.

b. the radiator is manufactured by "Valeo", refer to Figure 1 for identification,
c. old crimping method used to assemble the radiator end tanks resembles Figure 2.
