Hello again.
I have a small problem with the above car.
There is a pool of diesel on top of the recently-changed diesel fuel filter.
There are two fuel pipes .... A long one and a short one.
The leak is at the union where the small pipe is connected to the filter.
Hopefully - Not too difficult to change.
I'm going to renew the piece of pipe and secure with a couple of new clips.
Does anyone have a part number for the short piece of pipe ?
or
Do you buy a metre of pipe and cut a piece to length ?
or
Does Euro Car Parts supply a suitable type of fuel pipe ?
Any help appreciated.

The pipes look OK to me but the clips don’t - the small one doesn’t appear to be engaged. A couple of appropriately sized jubilee clips will solve your problem. The purists will disagree with using jubilees but if they are the right size they will be fine.

Thanks colinallcars.
I've used jubilee clips before with these flexi pipes where they join to the high pressure pump.
I'm happy enough to use them again.
The flexi pipe end is a bit scuffy - It's been on and off a few times.
That's why I was minded to change the piece of pipe.
Thanks.

This may be a little bit more complicated than at first sight.
The two flexible pipes and the two inlets to the fuel filter appear to be different diameters.
Oh joy.
I'll have to have a look round.
ECP offer a product No: 559770300 ...... 3/8" (10mm) Pearl fuel hose (High Spec)
A one-metre length is only about £6.
Worth a try ?
Does anyone know - Does the 3/8" (10mm) refer to the OD or the bore diameter ?

You appear to have a mish mash of hose clamps there but they all look as if they should do the job provided they are of the right size and have ben fitted properly...maybe not in your case.

For fuel or vacuum hose go to your local farm supplies store ( not the one that sells slices of cake for £5 and 'local' olives from Sicily marinated in GoJi berry juice) , the one that supplies farmers with all of their hardware.

Often a Emporium of delight you never knew you needed..but buy 'just in case' :)

Thanks Pete ... I think that's the problem.
It's very rare that I don't do all the jobs on my car.
On this one occasion, I asked someone else to change the fuel filter.
Guess what .... The connection leaks.
I haven't taken it apart yet, but the two metal connections on top of the filter do appear to be different diameters.

Living in central Leeds, I wouldn't know where to find a farm store.
Plenty of pubs and sarny shops, but few farmers.

They are indeed different diameters and you’ll find they are shaped so don’t lend themselves to being cut from a reel. Do what I suggest above and they will more than likely seal.

Solid pipe is always measured as outside diameter, flexible pipe always as inside diameter. That way you know that solid and flexible marked at the same size fit together.

Thank you colinallcars.
I will do exactly as you say.
I have some small jubilee clips, which I've used before on the connection to the high-pressure pump. These will probably do the job.

Thanks also ToeKnee ... That answers my questions re sizing of flexi pipes

So ...... Nine months later and the other hose connection to the fuel filter is leaking slightly.
Back in May 2021 I replaced the short hose, which was pretty shabby and secured it with a couple of jubilee clips.
Success - It hasn't leaked since.
The long hose is rather more expensive and is routed under the steel pipe to the turbo.
I cut it back about 3/8 inch and secured it again with a jubilee clip.
That was a couple of days ago.
It hasn't leaked yet.
:)
