E280 CDI V6 car shaking

Hi all

My father has gone abroad so his E280 CDI v6 hasn't been driven for about 2 weeks now. I start the car regularly (every 4-5 days) but a few days ago I noticed something not right. When I started the car (after about 5 days from last start) it cranked for a bit longer than normal (is this meant to happen if not driven for a long time in a diesel?). After that, I let the engine idle for about 10 seconds then revved it to about 2000rpm for about 3 seconds, when I took foot off the gas pedal, the car started to shake and the engine became louder and gave the impression that it was about to turn off, so I quickly turned off the engine. Started it again and the car was shaking at idle this time (no rev was given) so I turned it off again. I waited about a minute and started the car again and it started fine, idling was fine - I let it idle for about 2 minutes and then gave it the same rev and the engine was fine - no shaking... The same thing happened again yesterday so it has become a concern to why this is happening.

If anyone could let me know their suggestions, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Starting the car without driving it is far worse than leaving it standing. If you're insured to, take it for a good drive, then park it up until he returns. The most you should do is charge the battery and possibly roll it a foot or so backwards and forwards to avoid flat-spotting the tyres.
