Hi All,

I have been quoted £350 from my local Indi for a B service. Seems a bit heavy to me but can you confirm whether I'm just delusional or if this reasonable please?

Also, are there any specific essential 100k miles service items that need doing?

Cheers,

Cammie

As an initial check , ask MB what they would charge to compare value of the services ?

Hi, thanks for the quick response.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by compare value of the services?

Cheers,

Cammie
Ask MB what they would charge , this will allow you to compare savings with independent service costs .

Seems ok to me for a b service, consider having the gearbox oil changed, budget around £400 for that.

B service is the same as the A service but with more inspections so takes longer. Apart from inspection and top ups they are only oil change. Other stuff like air filter, spark plugs etc run to separate schedules. Ask plenty of questions.

It’s a bit like asking British Gas what a new boiler would cost :) .
Let us know how you get on .
So apparently the car needs Service A. (100k miles service) MB charge £725 for this service, which also includes a coolant change. I checked with the local Indi and a coolant change is included in the £350 they quoted. Break flud is also due to be changed which is £65 which seems very reasonable. All of a sudden the indi quote is looking desirable and I can confirm I'm delusional!

I think I was blinkered by some of the fixed cost Mercedes servicing online sites which some garages offer @ £275 ish.

Booked in with local for next month. I had the transmission service completed at the Indi just after I bought it last year.
