E300-24 Convertible with a E500 kit!!!!

There are two types of 3ltr 24 valve engines. One with mechanical injection, the other with electronic injection. The 3 ltr electronic injection version is better than the 320 engine. The 320 is not quite as swift on acceleration as the 3 ltr version.

The seats could be original, mine show hardly any wear at all apart from the driver's bolster and armrest. Both could be touched up like new with a leather resto kit.

The floor mats could also just be new ones, or just the carpet below the overmats. I've just replaced mine and they really lift the interior, my original carpets are also in pretty good nick.

The interiors on W124s wear exceptionally well - especially when they don't get much use (like mine was).

Having said that you can see where feet have caught the backs of the front seats on entering and exiting the back of our car in the 5 months since our nipper was born...

Perhaps the German car just never had more than the driver in for most of its life.

If that guy is running a 3 litre engine on a manual transmission, then do you think the transmission is strong enough to handle the torque and power/kickdown of that engine?
Of course. The 300CE-24 was available from the factory with manual transmission.

Surely this must be the same manual transmission that was put in the E200 and E220 models?
Same basic 717.4, as Malcolm said, but a different variant. The 300CE-24 had a dog-leg gear shift (as mentioned in the ad).

More likely the E200 box could handle the 300CE-24 engine... ;)

I like it lots - airbrushed or not  (and I don't normally like dark interiors!) ;)

it looks factory fresh inside , i understand why you guys think its doctored. Hard wearing or not , a butt will make a seat crinkle.

Having looked at mine again on the way to work this morning. They have plenty of wrinkles to the inner panels where sat in which I suppose are wear marks - so I suspect the pics have been doctored or the car has been recently reupholstered.

Either way, if it is new upholstery then all I can say is wow! I want it!!! lol

it could be new, it could be air brushed or it could be shoe polished...
