e300 alternate flashing red/green light

Hi
looking at a e300 d auto,
flashing alternate red / green light in mirror, won,t start,
happened sicne battery went flate, any idea,s thanks.

Just got this from another forum... It may be a sync issue between the key and imobilser...

First thing to do is to check the remote battery: press and hold the transmit button for >1 second. If the battery is good you should see a red light flash on the remote.


next resync the remote using the following procedure:

1) point the IR remote at an IR reciever, preferrably the mirror,
2) press the transmitt button twice
3) within 30 seconds, put the blade key in the ignition and turn to position 2

Hi,
Before spending any money, replace the fob batteries, as the LED's flashing could also mean they are flat, even if the fob unlocks/locks the car this is no indication of the fob batteries good condition.
