I tried fitting a new fog light this afternoon as previous one was smashed, whilst connecting the switch the wires became loose and touched causing sparks.
after connecting the wires, tried fog light but didnt work. tried starting the car but wont start, all the lights on the dash come on, but flicker on and off and its all gone funny with the fuel indicator that keeps going up and down.
when key is turned all i can hear from the engine is a popping noise,which i think is coming from the starter motor and a similar tapping sound from a small box on the left hand side.
iv tried jump starting it thinking it was the battery but no joy, iv checked the fuse box and all seem ok, but i think its deffinately the electrics.
anyone what it could be?
