E300TD 1999 Front Suspension

Hi all, I just done a service on my car, and whilst bleeding the brakes I noticed corrosion on the n/s/f Front Spring Body Support/ CUP/HOUSING.
it's part of the body. Has anyone had any issues with regards this!
I think I will plan to strip this back to metal to see the exstent of corrosion, and possibly a welding job.

Its called the spring perch. Sorry to have to tell you these break. There are many posts on here. Use the search facility above.

This is a very common problem on these cars at around this age.
It can (and does) lead to complete failure.
We have two of these cars and I check regularly.
So far - No problems.
This is a known problem and there is a standard repair procedure.
