Hi to you all. I have had a small fuel leak, so yesterday I changed the fuel shut off o'ring on the fuel pump. I did it about 15 months ago and recently i noticed a smell of Diesel. Anyway the old one had a small nick in it and I have used it and not noticed any more leaks touch wood so far. Anyway Patriot of doom had a how you do which is fantastic just found it. I have decided that its time for me to change the plastic pipes and the 6 o'rings in the injector out lets as per POD's How to do instructions. I have gone through the parts diagrame's and have taken down all the part's I need, But I would Like to know how the Inlet Manifold is removed. Looking at the Diagrame's in the parts book does the manifold just slide off the main pipe Which goes to the Turbo! I noticed a part which I assume is the o'ring sealing It!!!! Is the unit attached to it the EGR is it worth stripping and cleaning, will i need any other parts!:D
I am not in the UK this is why I am asking, I want to buy all i need to do the job in the next few weeks when i return to the uk.
I appricate everyones advise, and as usaul its all great advise, One thing I can say this fourm is better than going to a dealer.:thumb:
Thanks Again

You need to go under the car and unbold the number 146,it is holding the manifold to the turbo pipe, then take off the pipes from the EGR ( see below) and just lift it up. Better order a manifold gasket replacement at mercedes, its recommended to change it everytime you disturb the manifold. The easiest way I found to go under the car is to put the front left wheel on a footpath, as the bolt take only a minute to take off, no point jacking the car up. Also might as well get the Oring for the inlet pipe while you are at it :) number 164.
There is the link of the manifold picture.

THe EGR pipe need to be disconnected too, there is a little clamp that is a pain in the bottom, 41 and 44 on the picture

Hi Gino,
Sorry, canno get the second picture to work anymore either? Its easy anyway, the wee clamp need a 10mm socket to untie it, take the bolt out completly , open the clamp and take it out. This is just under the manifold.
Aboout the under tray I don't know as I never had any? But I guess you need to take it out :)
