My good lady has damaged both front undertray parts (now held up with cable ties)

Would it make a lot of difference to noise/mpg if I removed all of it or shall I order some new ones?

Phil

We have two E300TDs.
One has the under-trays in place.
On the other, they were lost before I owned the car.
Doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference to noise or performance.
The only big difference is that I find it easier to drain the oil without having to move the tray.

The fixing points seem to deteriorate badly.
Some are missing.
I bought some new ones hoping (naively) that they would just click into place in their original slots.
They just wouldn't hold.
Cable ties is the answer, I fear.

Thanks for that, its more than the clips both front bits are smashed !

I might try second hand ones before I go trayless

Phil

I have the one that goes under the engine sump.
I'm unlikely ever to re-fit it as the captive nuts are shot.
I'll have a look at it tonight.
I think it's in one piece, but I'd better just check.
If it's OK, it's yours if you want to pick it up from me in Barnsley or Bradford.
I see you're in Yorkshire.
Yorkshire's a big place.
