In the spare wheel compartment I have a thing with a white plastic winder sticking out of it. Any clues what the winder is for/ does?

Thank you. So do I pull out the knob and turn or push it in?

The hexagonal thing is to wind the roof back & forth manually. The knurled knob is to set the end of travel for the tilt/slide mechanism. I wouldn't touch it

Oops too late. I touched it. But it helps to know why my tilt slide is not to accurate.
